WHAT’S YOUR FALL STYLE, GUYS?
Are you a scumbro or more 90s?
Think unkempt, yet stylish, scumbro is all about shabby chic. Very eclectic, very young and almost an offshoot of hipster, scumbro owes its meteoric rise thanks to Ariana Grande’s most recent ex, Pete Davidson, and the Beibers of the world followed. And of course our very own Ranveer Singh heralded the trend long before it became a ‘thing’ ya know.
The fanc-ey Italian word translates into studied carelessness or a certain nonchalance when it comes to ones’ clothes. A more chill version of the tailored suit which perfectly sums up the stylish, yet laidback Italian way of life. Think tailored separates mixed and matched with silken scarves and pocket squares – throwing in a houndstooth jacket with striped pants. Seems almost convoluted, but it’s really not (at least not most times). Ayushmann Khurana pulls this look off best methinks.
The 90s have been raging and making waves for a while now, but its spin on athleisure is something special. We love the whole oversized paired with tailored trend, and love the comeback long forgotten brands on the highstreet have made of late. Again, no one does this better than Ranveer of course.
Being active and taking care of one’s self has never been hotter than right now, so no surprises then that technical outerwear (hiking gear for the layman) is having its big moment in the fashion-iverse. Hiking boots, puffer jackets, windcheaters, other weather+UV-protected clothes and bags that leave your hands free.
Statement sweaters worn over Oxford shirts, tailored pants with loafers, the cool nerd will try anything, even if it is Homer Simpson’s face making the statement. Throw on a pair of horn-rimmed glasses, a side-parting and a cheeky-ass grin.
