A modern day fairytale
Harry said, “I do”!
The royal family of England has witnessed many many many weddings, of course, but today’s was one of it’s own. It’s a coming together of British nobility and the American dream, a sign of the ever-evolving royal family and an opportunity for Britain to bask in celebratory attention for a few days– the guest list speaks for itself (not to mention to sell a fair number of plates, teacups and postcards of the American-ginger duo).
Here are our memorable moments from the wedding that we will be in awe of for days.. or maybe weeks.. could be months also.. to come.
Who said frills are for women only? Look at the very dapper Duke of Sussex dressed so sharp as he walks towards St. George’s Chapel with his best man and brother, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge.
Meghan’s heart maybe all gloated up but some other hearts, most who are the eager attendees that hoarded in parks to witness the procession, had theirs broken today.
Finally we know it—Meghan’s dress was designed by Givenchy’s first female artistic director Clare Waight Keller.
Even though our eyes were hooked to the tiara, Meghan’s dress had a special connection to the commonwealth—it featured a trim of hand-embroidered flowers from each of the 53 counties.
Well, we all are our daddy’s little girls but when your beau’s daddy walks you down the aisle—you got to be the beloved of the two of them.
Doing away with the grown-ups, Meghan choose to walk down with the tiny tots of friends and family as her bridesmaids and page boys—including Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
Her bouquet included Forget-Me-Not flowers, Princess Diana’s favourite that Harry handpicked as a tribute to his mom.
Behind her contagious smile and glowing face that glorified each and every freckle spoke of her bi-racial heritage and her strength—today, I’m me.
These two give us life goals—can’t you feel their love for each other?
It all leads to this moment. Welcome the newlyweds: Duke and Dutchess of Sussex.
The public gets the first glimpse of the newly weds with loads of warm smiles and waves when they head out for a spin.
Not everyone seems to be following the protocols of the procession—that horse in there is rebellious! The queen won’t be very happy, we assume (a demotion is predicted).
