Most inspiring video of the week: Nike’s Da Da Ding
Ask a girl what’s her favourite part about working out? Sure, endorphins will make it to the list but never before the outfit – the sports bra with the loose tank top and tights that she’d love to live in. Let’s not forget the neon sneakers that somehow bring the whole look together. One of the most popular activewear brands, Nike has apparel and shoes to help you bring you’re A-game.
For their newest drop, Nike partnered with trailblazers and unveiled its ‘Da Da Ding’ campaign telling women to #JustDoIt. The viral video features several Indian women athletes and hopes to encourage greater female participation in sports in the country.
Deepika Padukone, one of most successful actors in Bollywood, and Rani Rampal, who became India’s youngest player on the national field hockey team at 15 in 2010, are among several young and fierce sportswomen.
In a Facebook post, Deepika admits, “Sport has taught me how to handle failure. It has also taught me how to handle success. It has kept me grounded. It has taught me humility. Two years ago I struggled with depression. I was sinking. I almost gave up. But it was the athlete in me that gave me the strength to fight and never ever give up!”
The campaign also features footballer Jyoti Ann Burrett, squash player Joshna Chinappa and cricketers Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Shubhlakshmi Sharma and others.
Watch the powerful ad below. If these women don’t have you tying your laces for a good run or enrolling yourself in football lessons, we don’t know what will. #GirlPower
P.S: We bet you have the ‘Da Da Ding’ song by Genera8ion (featuring American rapper Gizzle) on loop after watching it. It’s already got the Twitterati humming…
