Don’t get tier-ed choosing your wedding cake, we’ve got you covered. Text: Ria Jaiswal
“The wedding cake is very personal and mainly depends on the style and taste of the couple,” says Priyal Kothari of Confetti. Avani Malhotra from For The Love Of Cake adds, “Brides have so much choice these days; there’s so much on offer.”
- Cupcake towers
- Multi-tiered cakes
- Asymmetrical cakes
- Cookie stacks
- Macaron towers
- Dessert spreads with assorted cakes
- Traditional fondant cakes
“Chocolate truffle or praline is an all-time favourite for Indian clients. However, these days people are willing to experiment with new flavour combinations like lemon, raspberry, rose, chocolate + orange, salted caramel, strawberry champagne and apple cinnamon,” says Priyal.
The price of your cake depends on your baker. Avani charges between Rs 10,000 and Rs 35,000 depending on the size and extravagance of the cake. And at Confetti, the cakes normally range from Rs 2000 – Rs 2,500 per kilo.
Avani believes that ideas come from everywhere. Each wedding cake is also meant to reflect the couple. People look at their décor, their story, their favourite elements and incorporate these elements into the confectionary.
