Summer/Resort’19 Day 3
We saw lots of floral-injected drama on Day 3 of the Summer/Resort’19 edition of Lakme Fashion Week, and it was also the most buzzing. While we saw a lot of creative collabs between design and fashun powerhouses, there was also an interplay of sustainable with others who made a strong statement on consumerism, and other ills that plague the world in 2019.
Blazin’ bright blazers sans lapels worn over kurtas in single and double-breasted versions, were teamed with cool cropped pants in flared versions, and those that weren’t #blazingblazers

Jajaabor’s ‘The Moving Wall’ invoked memories of the years gone by through exquisitely embossed horses and fish atop pleated and layered ensembles in the finest mulmul, silk chanderi, organza, khadi and cotton gauze #thememoryproject
Jain paid ode to Jap florist+botanical sculptor, Azumma Makoto, through her fantastical manipulation of fabrics into floral motifs via gorj 3D embroidery and block-printing on wrap-a-round+smock dresses, layered jackets, checkered harness blazers, and billowing sleeve blouses.
Mazhar’s ‘Kadhaiwala’ was a bevy of full-circle blousons, asymmetrical skirts, and interesting bags in trending ‘white’ with beautiful elements of fleur de lys creeping their way through chunnis, and as borders on most of his clothes #flowerpower
