FASHION WEEK SS18 TREND ROUND UP

1 year ago | BY Kriti Asthana

Styles from Milan and Paris that you can wear RN

The Juice throws it back to a week of ‘90s supermodels claiming back the runway, Kaia Gerber taking over all lives (read Instafeed) and oh, some fashion of course.

The shoes were pointed
1Some lethally so. Choose your poison – ruffles, barely-there “naked” skinny sandals, or knife-point booties #PowerDressing

The Little Black Dress got a little sexier
2No, it’s not little-er, but a lot more sensual. Think sheer fabrics, draping, and styling details. Wanna toughen it up? Biker boots.

Girly game is still strong with the Pretty Little Dress
3Think frills, flounces, nets, pink – Just all that is good and pure in the world. Accessorise it up for a night on the town, or wear with minimal make up for a day in the sun.

We’re showing off our itty-bitty waists
4And why shouldn’t we? We’ve spent the last couple of years in athleisure, some days even making it to the gym. If the dress doesn’t come with a cinched waist, make do with a DIY sash (as seen at Etro).

Poppin’ it, lockin’ it, polka dottin’ it
5If the dots are big, there are fewer of them. Otherwise, it just looks ugly and we don’t want none of that. They are also not just plain ol’ dots anymore – they come in different shapes (as seen at Off White) or grow in size as you go down (as seen at Givenchy and Christian Dior).

The bags were extra EXTRA
6Why do we love the extra bags so much? ‘Cuz they level out the maximalist plain field. Can’t do too much print or embellishment in your clothes, accessories are a safe bet. Think flower motifs, gold hardware, and major embellishments. Feeling creative? Tie a printed scarf around your bag to make it stand out a wee bit more.

The sunglasses went from tint to turnt
7SS18 saw SS17’s tint, and raised it a coloured frame. Of course, you can’t match your frames to your outfit ALL.THE.TIME. Or can you?

We’re showing off that bod, but also hiding it
8How, you ask? There’s mesh, there’s tulle, there’s organza. The extra fabric can either lend a luxurious feel to your ensemble (as seen at Dries Van Noten) or add to your ragged biker chic vibe (as seen at Olivier Theyskens).
