6 times Leandra Medine proved it’s cool to ‘sock it’
The Juice sheds some light on the controversial trend of wearing socks with stilettos
Fashion is a paradox. One decade, you’re a fashion pariah for wearing visible socks with stilettos, and the next you’re a visionary for doing the very same thing albeit a decade later. Thankfully, this winter, you’ll fall into the latter category if you choose to keep your feet warm but hella fancy at the same time.
Of course, you could just wear boots, but where’s the fun in that? Sometimes, a girl just needs to wear 6-inch, mind-numbingly painful heels to feel pretty. There’s an added bonus to wearing socks with stilettos – It is super comfy! Fun fact, wearing socks with your stilettos is actually the best way to break them in and to avoid blisters. The socks help to stretch out the shoe and take the shape of your foot.
And ever since socks stopped being utility wear and became fashion-wear (Why else would celebs be clamouring to launch their own sock lines?), you don’t need to wear the same old cotton white socks you wear with everything. In fact, we insist you don’t, especially with the million choices available. There’s lurex, metallic, lace, ruffled, satin and novelty cotton socks with cray prints!
We let the champion of this trend, Leandra Medine AKA The Man Repeller give you some inspo on how to sock rock this trend.
